Pivot Points is a technical analysis indicator that outlines significant support and resistance price levels and can help determine the overall directional movement of the market. The pivot points are calculated using the prior period’s high, low, and close prices.

In a bullish market, the resistance levels (R1-R4) may constitute an upper limit in price where an uptrend is no longer viable and could potentially reverse. Likewise, in a bearish market, support levels (S1-S4) may act as barriers to further downward movement.
