Moving Average Ribbon

Moving Average Ribbon is a technical indicator which displays multiple moving averages on the same chart.  Each moving average is calculated using a different time period and is displayed in a unique color.  The indicator is used to identify developing trends. Strong trends are identified when the lines are all moving in the same direction.  A reversal can be identified when the lines change direction or cross each other.

INPUTS

The following inputs are available from the properties window and can be defined by the app user:

MA_Type: Specifies which type of moving average calculation the indicator will use.

• 0 = Simple Moving Average
• 1 = Exponential Moving Average
• 2 = Smoothed Moving Average
• 3 = Linear Weighted Moving Average

MALine_width: Specifies the width of each individual moving average line in pixels

MA Color: Specifies the color of an individual moving average line

MA Period: Specifies the period of an individual moving average line

Requirements

This app is only compatible with FXCM MetaTrader 4 software. It does not operate on MetaTrader 4 software provided by any other brokerage. Additionally, an FXCM account is required (including free FXCM demo accounts).
