Laguerre RSI with Filter

Laguerre RSI is an adaptation of the classic Relative Strength Index indicator.  It calculates data using only the 4 most recent bars of data.  Using only those most recent bars places greater emphasis on recent prices, and less emphasis on older prices.  This would ordinarily cause the indicator to appear rough or choppy.  To compensate, an additional Laguerre filter is added to smooth the data.

INPUTS

• Gamma: A price damping factor that can be lowered to encourage more aggressive signals OR raised to encourage more conservative signals.  The input’s scale ranges from -0.5 up to 1.05.
